Ben

The official blurb in his first YA novel states:

Ben Julien was born in Brisbane and has spent much of his life there, except for several years living and working in Europe and Asia teaching English. He is married and spends his time playing hockey, reading, slowly learning the guitar and taking his border collie for runs.

His passions are language, spoken and written, European history and travel…

… but this reads almost like the intro for a dating site and is completely out of date now that he has spliced his genes into two new life-forms (strike all the above hobbies and passions).

 He attended the Clarion South speculative fiction writers’ workshop in Brisbane in 2009 and survived apartment 336 with most of his sanity and some short story work intact. He has published a YA trilogy called the Runes Saga (www.benjulien.com) and is completing an adult length speculative fiction novel tentatively titled “The Bhel Sea”.

He also likes long walks on the beach, but only if there’s something to eat at the end of it.
